Ohuhu Leadership Issues Security Warning As Police Divisions Vacate Over Safety Concerns

OHUHU WELFARE UNION WORLDWIDE.

Re: SECURITY RED ALERT PRESS RELEASE.

17th May, 2021.

Ndi Ohuhu, mamma nu.

This is to inform Ndi Ohuhu worldwide, that the security situation in the Southeast, and especially in the Umuahia area, has become something of urgent and grave concern, with dangerous security developments.

Information officially reaching us today, is that the Divisional Police Office at Ubakala, Umuahia South L.G.A., has been burnt down by unknown gunmen. Sequel to this new development, the Police High Command in Abia State, has directed all Divisional Police Offices in Ikwuano, Ohuhu, and Umuopara respectively, to vacate their locations with immediate effect, and relocate temporarily to the Police Area Command HQ in Umuahia town.

The implication of this order amongst others, is that the Divisional Police Offices mentioned, will not be manned during the period the Police will be away, exposing us to further security threats. The consequence of this decision by the Police, is better imagined than experienced.

In the circumstance, and in consultation with the Ohuhu Traditional Rulers Council, we are hereby requesting all Ohuhu people, especially those at home, to be on SECURITY RED ALERT.

By this notice, the Ohuhu Vigilante Group (OVG), and all other Vigilante groups in Ohuhu, are hereby placed on SECURITY RED ALERT. They are to reorganise, and ensure that adequate security is maintained in the nooks and cranies of the entire Ohuhu land.

Consequently, we hereby further advice and direct as follows;

1.) That all Ohuhu people and people living in Ohuhu, should be security conscious, and report any suspicious movements to their Traditional Rulers, and  vigilante officers closest to them, for immediate proactive security measures.

2.) Ndi Ohuhu, should ensure they obey the Abia State Government  curfew of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. in Umuahia and some other areas of Abia State. Anybody other than the security agents and vigilante personnel on duty found loitering during the period of the curfew, does so at his own peril.

3.) Finally, the Ohuhu Welfare Union WorldWide, in consultation with the Ohuhu Traditional Rulers Council, hereby invites all Ohuhu people, to an Emergency Security Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, 18th May, 2021, at 10 a.m. prompt.

Venue: Okaiuga Nkwoegwu Civic Center Hall, Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu.

We hereby urge all adult Ohuhu sons, to endeavour to be in attendance, to discuss safety of Ohuhu people and Ohuhu land, at these precarious times.

Together, we shall all work to keep Ohuhu safe, as we pray to Almighty God for protection, and His grace and mercies, in Jesus name, Amen.

Please help us by sharing this urgent notice in all your Community and or, village social media platforms.
