Ebonyi PDP Youths Accuse EbubeAgu Of Haunting Perceived Political Enemies, Abduction Of Barr Ogbonnaya

By NewsCritic Reporters

The Ebonyi state People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Youths have accused the state government of using the new Ebubeagu security outfit to haunt down and harass perceived and imaginary political enemies of the state government.
According to Osita Kalu Ugorji, the spokesperson of the PDP youth group, agents of the state government few hours ago abducted one Barrister Amos Ogbonnaya in a commando like style at his Okposi hometown.
Barr Ogbonnaya is the legal adviser and lead advocate of G64, the group of former development council coordinators currently engaged in a running battle with Governor Dave Umahi over unpaid allowances.
He was reportedly abducted few hours back by gunmen who shot sporadically into the air to scare away onlookers before whisking him away in a tinted white Hilux truck.
According to Ebonyi PDP Youths, the identity of one of the alleged kidnappers has been revealed by an eye witness as Chinonso, a PA to an SSA to the governor, who is from Okposi too.
The suspect is said to be a member of the state IGR Taskforce and alleged to also be a member of the newly constituted Ebubeagu security outfit.
The PDP Youths said they want to inform the public, especially security agencies that the kidnapper was agents of Ebonyi state government. The group also asked the governor to order the immediate release of the former DC coordinator, whose only offence according to them is speaking up for his rights and belonging to PDP.
“We affirm that Barr Amos is in the hands of agents of the Ebonyi State Governor and should anything happen to him, Gov Dave Umahi will be held personally responsible”, the statement adds.
“The PDP is also using this opportunity to remind Nigerians of its earier public notification that the Ebonyi State Ebubeagu security outfit is a political assassination team packaged by the state to haunt down real and imaginary enemies of the state governor”.
