The good people of Umuopara clan in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State will on Monday March 29, 2021 welcome the dynamic Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to the community. His Excellency Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s visit to Umuopara is on inspection tour of the Umuopara Ring Road project, which is in continuation of his state-wide kinetic Abia project tours. The kinetic Abia project tours, which is unprecedented in the history of the God’s Own State have witnessed the inspection and commissioning of various landmark projects being executed by Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.
His Excellency Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has indeed set a template in good governance that will be used as the yardstick to measure the performance of future governors in Abia state. in terms of infrastructural development, commerce, trade and investment, agriculture, Education, SMEs etc Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu’s accomplishments is unparallel. He has restored the lost glory of Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the eastern region, which hitherto had suffered serious neglect from past administrations in the state.
The Governor’s outstanding record in virtually all the sectors of the state’s economic and social life deserve commendations and applause from all and sundry, who will attest to the fact that Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu remains the best thing that has happened to Abia State. He has set a good precedence for future Abia Governors to follow.
That is why as His Excellency the Executive Governor of Abia state, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD inspects the strategic Umuopara Ring Road project come Monday the 29th day of March 2021, a prominent son of the soil, Sir Ako Obioma, who also attracted the road project has commended Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for his giant developmental strides in Abia State, which is bound to stand the test of time.
Sir Ako Obioma wishes to welcome Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu the Executive Governor of Abia State and his entourage to Umuopara, on his inspection visit to the ongoing Umuopara Ring Road project in Umuahia South Local Government Area, LGA, of Abia State. This is in continuation of the kinetic Abia Project Tours of the state which has received wide acclamation, due to the quality and quantity of projects on ground.
Let me restate it once again that of all the past administrators of Abia State, none has been able to match the feat recorded by Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu in terms of achievements and vision, except Air Vice Marshal Frank Ajobena (retd). I want to make bold to say that Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu remains the best Governor who has made the development of Abia his topmost priority.
A pioneer contractor of the state, Dr Ako Obioma, who was involved in the aerial mapping/master plan of both Umuahia Capital City under Air Vice Marshall Frank Ajobena (retd) and Aba under Senator T. A Orji, including design of the proposed world bank underground drainage at Aba, doffed his cap for Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for being the first after Frank Ajobena to kick-start the Abia Master plan in both Umuahia and Aba. Sir Ako Obioma charged the would-be successors to irrespective of party affiliations and sentiments continue from where Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu stopped, because according to him government is a continuum.
The people of Umuopara and indeed posterity will always remember His Excellency Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for the courage of starting and completing the Umuopara Ring Road project. This is a project that his predecessors in office, since the past 16-years had used to campaign but at the end it would turn out to be empty campaign promises. It’s only God that will reward your Excellency’s efforts to better the lives of the people.
Be it known today that the people of Umuopara have decided that in appreciation to your benevolence and kind-heartedness, this bypass which transverse Umuopara, linking Enugu – Umuahia Expressway from Amachara; and Umuahia – Port Harcourt Expressway from Ehume; on completion will be named Dr Okezie Ikpeazu link road. This is but our little way to show appreciation and solidarity to you for saving the people of Umuopara the hardship we have suffered over the years as a result of the non-construction of this strategic road.
