Former governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North senatorial district in the National Assembly, senator Orji Kalu, has blamed the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia state for spreading fake news that he promised Fulani herdsmen N100m as compensation over the losses they suffered in the state recently.

The social media has been awash since yesterday of reports quoting Sen Kalu as saying that “I will pay Herdsmen 100m as compensation to their losses, warning the Eastern Security Network, ESN, to “leave my constituency immediately”.

Sen Kalu was allegedly responding to last week’s incident in Isikwuato, and the reported counter attacks by the members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB.

It could be recalled that the ESN had launched an attack against fulani terrorists in Isiukwuato, who were involved in kidnapping and killing of innocent citizens.
Orji Kalu, according to the social media report went on to warn the ESN to leave Abia North, warning that any more attack would lead to something else.
“I’m directly warning Nnamdi Kanu and his ESN to leave my constituency immediately”.

He said “I won’t sit down here to watch you attack people living in my constituency again.

“I’ve contacted miyetti Allah and I will pay them N100m as compensation for the death of their cows, the report claimed.
However, speaking through his media aide Hon Maduka Okoro, Kalu attributed the report to the handiwork of PDP. “It’s PDP that is spreading the fake news and we don’t have to give credibility to such report, says Maduka Okoro.
He said the Abia senator can’t make such statement, adding that he is a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, which constitution he vows to uphold.
