Media aide to Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Hon Maduka Okoro has described the just concluded local government council election in Abia state as a sham, saying that no election took place in the state. He called for the abolition of the Abia State Independent National Electoral Commission, ABSIEC, for non-performance.

Speaking with the NewsCritic online in Umuahia on Sunday, Hon Maduka Okoro said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the party to beat believes in free and credible election like was conducted in other states, but was greatly disappointed by the Prof Mkpa Agu Mkpa led ABSIEC.

He stressed that already a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain in Abia State has condemned the election, adding that this LGA election conducted by ABSIEC can’t stand because Abia electorates were deliberately disenfranchised from exercising their voting rights.

Said Hon Okoro “Senator Orji Kalu never said APC would win 100 per cent but that every voter should be allowed to vote. I must say that we are disappointed in Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for letting this happen in Abia State”.

“At Ozuitem in Bende LGA there was no voting, no ABSIEC official came to conduct election and they are announcing results. They want to set this state on fire and if care is taking, we will replicate Endsars, EndAbsiec in Abia.

“We are going to the streets, this election can’t stand, I never voted. There is going to be a great quake in Abia State following this sham called election, he warned.
