The Youths of Amafor Isingwu Ohuhu in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State has warned prospective buyers that the communal land located at Ebite near the National War Museum, Umuahia is not for sale.
In a statement issued and signed by the Amafor Isingwu youth president, Ehiogu Emmanuel and Youth Secretary Iregbu Simeon, the youths said that the tenure of the Amafor Isingwu Union federated executive led by the president Chukwunyere Nwankwo has elapsed, hence any transaction conducted on behalf of the Amafor Isingwu community by these executives are illegal.
The youths also warned that it will not hesitate to take the necessary legal action or contact the necessary agencies within the ambits of law against any person who goes against this directive or try to undermine the community’s interests.
Amafor Isingwu is facing internal crisis over the accusation that the N107 million paid by the federal government as compensation for acquiring their land for the National War Museum Ebite was embezzled. This is in addition to the allegation that the leadership of the community has been involved in wanton sales of communal lands without the consent of the people of the community.
