The Elugwu na Amaogwugwu community of Ohuhu in Umuahia North Local Government Area is in a jubilant mood following the cash gift of N6,000 each to the residents and other relief items, including one big Cow donation as palliatives by concerned indigenes of the community at home and Diaspora.
Residents of Elugwu na Amaogwugwu community led by the Chairmansaid they are thankful to the donors led by Chief Eboh Duke Ihekwumere and others, who are their illustrious sons for remembering the less privileged and aged in the community during this period of economic hardship arising from the COVID-19 lockdown.
Speaking on behalf of the donors, the former Executive Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Chief Chidiebere Nwachukwu, said the kindred is happy and grateful to the donors for showing concern to the plight of their people at home.
Chief Chidiebere Nwachukwu, said he is particularly happy by the show of love and contributions made to the cause of humanity and prayed God to bless the donors abundantly.
He observed that it is not easy to bring out money at this time for the sake of humanity, adding that it is not because the donors have enough but the willingness to help the indigent and vulnerable in our midst and to see that their people did not go to bed hungry.
The former LGA Boss thanked Ohuhu sons and daughters who in one way or the other helped to put food on the tables of their people at this critical period in global history, and urged them not to stop doing good.
Some of the donors are, Eboh Ihekwereme Okorie, Bishop (Dr) Godwin Onyema Madumere, Chymar Okorie Ihekwereme, Pst Chido Nkemakolam and High Chief Ndubisi D. Nkemakolam. Others are De Ubendu Eluwa, Amechi Ihekwereme, Simeon Ihekwereme, Iheanyi Ogbusuo and Hon. Ebere Nwachukwu.
