The leadership of Ohuhu Welfare Union Worldwide has clarified that the ongoing tour of communities and visits to Ohuhu leaders by the President General, Sir Obi Aguocha is open to all interested persons of Ohuhu origin who may wish to join the entourage.
According to the Publicity Secretary of OWU, Mr Ewereuzor Ogbonna, the clarification became necessary due to insinuations making rounds in some quarters that the President General only embark on the tour with people who share the same ideology and sentiments with him.
The NewsCritic reports that since the PG Obi Aguocha started the visit, the notice of his movement is always published and well circulated thereby calling on all Ohuhu people to join the PGs entourage on the visit, which some interested people use to comply with.
According to the press release, “the attention of the publicity desk has been drawn to some fallacious contentions in some quarters to the effect that the entourage of the president general on his ongoing courtesy visits and tour of duty to Ohuhu communities, is only comprised of handpicked individuals of a presumed ideological leaning.
“Nothing can be farther from the truth as the media team have always announced the schedule of these visits ahead of time and invited all ohuhu sons and daughters who may be disposed to either join the presidential train or grace the occasions.
“It is hear- warming to note that this presidency is driving an unprecedented vision of unity, development and restoration of the past glory of the Ohuhu nation and is fully aware that only footprints of total inclusiveness can birth this noble goals.
“As proof of this, the president general will shortly be unveiling a list of prominent and accomplished Ohuhu sons and daughters of diverse ideological, religious and political persuasions who will be serving Ohuhu through various committees and media’s.
“So far the footprints of the president general and his team continues to excite and awaken hope across the length and breadth of the Ohuhu nation.
“Though every Ohuhu son and daughter have a right to their chosen religious, political or ideological inclinations, Ohuhu welfare Union is a melting point where these inclinations give way to brotherly bonds.
Let it therefore be clear that the membership and operations of Ohuhu welfare Union is totally blind to individual or group ideological, religious or political loyalties and is solely driven by Ohuhu citizenship.
