Rt Rev Ibeabuchi Consecrated Anglican Bishop Of Umuahia, Urges Christians To Think Of Making Heaven

The newly consecrated Bishop of Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Umuahia Diocese, Rt. Revd Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi, has charged Christians to always think of making heaven, saying that if being a Bishop would lead him to hell fire he would rather resign because eternal life is the most important thing to him as a Christian.

Bishop Ibeabuchi stated this at St. Stephen Cathedral, Umuahia, during his consecration as the 3rd Bishop of Umuahia Diocese by his grace the Most Revd Nicholas Okoh.

The Anglican Bishop of Umuahia thanked all that contributed to his ascension while promising to take the Diocese to the next level. He pledged to contribute his quota to the spiritual and physical growth of the church and members.

He however regretted that some ministers of God do not in the real sense have what it takes to be in Gods vineyard, but are ministers because of what they intend to gain.

“Some see the ministry as a way of becoming famous, others see it as a way of attracting respect and dignity and getting connected, while others is to get a job or employment. I want to remind that Jesus came not to be served but to serve others and remember there is always a reward for serving God”.

He advised those who derived interest in fighting the church to desist from it, noting that there is no gain in it. The Bishop urged members to be ready for self-denial and for all to give their life to Jesus Christ.

He used the occasion to pray for Abia State and Nigeria, just as he prayed God to intervene in the state of the country and let peace and unity reign in all regions of Nigeria.

In his contribution after the church service, the Accountant General of Abia state, Mr Kelechi Imeoria thanked God for the choice and enthronement of Bishop Ibeabuchi, describing him as a man of honour who is spirit filled.

He disclosed that the Bishop is well known to all of them as he started his life and ministry in the state, adding that he is the right choice, and most importantly a God fearing man and a gift to Anglican church.
