By NewsCritic Reporters

Abia State Commissioner for Housing and former member representing Ikwuano state constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Theophilus O. Ugbaja has congratulated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on his Appeal Court victory in the Election Petition filed against his election by Dr Alex Otti, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Hon Ugbaja in a statement issued in Umuahia expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the Appeal Court verdict, describing it as victory for the masses who voted massively for Dr Ikpeazu in the 2019 governorship poll.

He said that it is time the opposition, especially Otti joins hands with Ikpeazu to make Abia great instead of engaging in fruitless litigations that have become a distraction to the Abia state government led by Dr Ikpeazu.

According to Ugbaja, both the Election Petition Tribunal verdict and the Appeal court ruling validating the election of Governor Ikpeazu is a confirmation that the governor was the popular choice of the masses, adding that Otti could not have defeated Ikpeazu given the latter’s popularity and widespread support across the state.

He said that Ikpeazu is poised to rewrite the history of Abia and to leave lasting legacies behind, adding that the Enyimba Economic City project will generate over 700 thousand jobs on completion. To him there is need for all Abia irrespective of political affiliations to support Ikpeazu in his determination to move Abia to the next level of development.
