The core investor of Golden Guinea breweries Umuahia, Chief Okey Nzenwa has said that Golden Guinea Breweries remains the only indigenous breweries in Nigeria today, adding that he will ensure that everybody benefits from the business that the late Dr M.I Okpara established.
Chief Nzenwa made this remarks today Monday 18, 2019 when the Ohuhu Welfare Union led by the President-General, High Chief Obi Aguocha paid a courtesy visit to the management of the brewery. The core investor told the Ohuhu leaders that the management of Golden Guinea Breweries is emboldened by the support it has received so far from the host communities.
Nzenwa, who extoled the leadership qualities of the late premier of Eastern Nigeria, Dr M.I Okpara, stressed that the former premier performed wonders in Rivers and Bayelsa states, and have remained a political icon and the pride of eastern region.
He promised that everybody will be accommodated because Golden Guinea beer would be there for all of us, just as he thanked the visitors for coming to identify with Golden Guinea breweries.
In his brief speech, High Chief Obi Aguocha said they have come to appreciate the core investor for his courage and strength in bringing Golden Guinea breweries back to business, adding that the quality of the product is commendable.
Aguocha disclosed that his people have adopted the product as their first choice beer at all occasions, homes etc, adding that the late Dr Okpara was a detribalised leader the reason why he decided to locate the breweries where quality water could be sourced for production.
He said the brewery located at Ibeku is the symbol of unity and oneness of the people of Umuahia North Local Government Area, while maintaining that the Ohuhu people have come to celebrate with the management for their sacrifice to revive the brewery.
Aguocha appealed to the core investor to remember the people of Umuahia North in employment opportunities and distributorship of the products, describing the two as partners in progress.
In the delegation of the Ohuhu Welfare Union are the Transition Committee Chairman Umuahia North LGA, Barr Kelechi Ezechukwu, Education Secretary Umuahia North LGA, Hon Clement Onyeoziri, Secretary Ohuhu Welfare Union, Mr Eze Ukelonu, Chief Enyinnaya Ihukwumere, Hon Onyekachi, former Councillor Umuahia North LGA, and Mr Chika Nwabueze among others.
