Royal Fathers Bless Obi Aguocha, Invoke Curses On Any Individual Who Will Undermine Ohuhu Interest

By NewsCritic Reporters

The new leadership of Ohuhu Welfare Union, OWU, led by High Chief Obi Aguocha has continued to garner more supports from within and outside Ohuhu land, the latest being the solidarity visit by traditional rulers in Ohuhu led by His Royal Majesty Eze Everest Ofoegbu, the Chairman of Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers.

Ohuhu traditional rulers visit coincided with another solidarity visit by Ohuhu women yesterday, Friday 15, 2019 at the Okaiuga-Ngwoegwu country home of the new President-General. Also, former Presidents of OWU were on hand to pledge their support and loyalty to Aguocha, among whom were Hon Longman Nwachukwu, Chief Ebisike Okengwu etc.

The royal fathers who took turns to counsel the new President-General urged him to ensure that Ohuhu Welfare Union plays a central role in the development of Ohuhu land, as well as to ensure peace and unity of the people. The climax of the visit by the traditional council was the prayers they offered for Aguocha for his protection and success, and the invocation of ancestral curses on anybody who will make himself or herself a clog in the wheel of progress of Ndi Ohuhu led by Aguocha.

While congratulating Aguocha on his election as the new President-General, the royal fathers promised to give him all the necessary support and assistance needed to make his tenure a success.

On his part Hon Longman Nwachukwu, a former President General of OWU and Commissioner in Abia State, described Aguocha’s election as one of the best things to happen to Ohuhu people in recent times. He said it is a new dawn in Ohuhu land as Aguocha mounts the saddle of leadership as a tested and trusted Ohuhu son.

He stressed that no doubt the expectations are high given that Aguocha is one of the best and brightest sons of Ohuhu, adding that he will be the first that will be escorted home at the end of his term in a blaze of glory, with traditional dancers and canon shots just as it heralded his emergence.

In his response, Aguocha thanked the royal fathers for coming to show support, saying that every hands must be on deck to move Ohuhu forward. He pointed out that the collective interest of Ohuhu people is paramount and would be pursued with vigour, promising to run an open door policy.

The President-General disclosed that while funds is important to the success of any regime, that lack of funds would not be an excuse not to perform, as his leadership will explore other sources to raise money for the operations of the OWU. He said that the new secretariat of the OWU would become operational soon to enhance its administrative efficiency.

Obi Aguocha, the scion of the late Dr Aguocha family of Okaiuga Ngwoegwu in Umuahia North LGA is the second in the family to become the President-General of OWU, the first been his father.
