Flo FM Sports Presenter Oku Wins ‘First Young Journalists Award For Youth In Africa’

The Flo FM Umuahia Sports Broadcaster David Oku has won the First Young Journalists Award for Youth in Africa Award. The award is considered as the first award from Egypt for young journalists and media professionals in Africa.

David Oku (Davidtalks) alongside two other journalists in Africa were selected for the award due to their robust coverage of the …African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

David Essien Oku is a Nigerian Sports Broadcaster who hails from Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State.

He started his broadcasting career at the famous Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC) Calabar, before joining Flo-FM Umuahia, Abia State in 2017.

He is the anchor of Sports Trax, Monday Night Football, and MidweekSportsReel and finds Interest in Youth Sports Development, Promotion, and Reporting during Sports competitions. He recently covered the2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, and will also be present at the Africa under 23 Cup of Nations starting from 8th November 2019 in Cairo, Egypt.

The award ceremony comes up on 10th November 2019 at the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
