Panic As Armed Security Men Take-Over Routes To Nnamdi Kalu’s Residence In Umuahia

By NewsCritic reporters

Armed security men have taken over roads leading to the residence of the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kalu in Umuahia, Abia State this morning.

NewsCritic reports that stern looking policemen and patrol vehicles were positioned in strategic points near the family home of Nnamdi Kalu at Afara Ibeku. While some were stationed at the junction leading to the family house of Kalu, others were positioned at the end of Factory road close to FLO FM Umuahia, which is about five poles to Kalu’s house.

Also, about three patrol van loaded with mobile and military men were packed at another junction overlooking the family home of Nnamdi Kalu. From their look, the security men appear not to be in a hurry to vacate the area as they seem to be keeping watch around the home of the IPOB leader.

Though the mission of the security men were not known at the time of this report, IPOB has raised alarm that there is plot by the security agencies in collaboration with the state government to attack the home of Kalu and shoot anyone seen at the house.

However, it was gathered that the renewed security siege at Afara Ibeku community of the IPOB leader might not be unconnected with the announcement made by Kalu that he would return home this month.

Already there is panic in Umuahia following the renewed security siege at the area and many are wondering why the heavy security presence around Kalu’s family home this time. Efforts to reach the PPRO Geoffery Ogbonna was not successful as he did not pick his calls.
