Tinubu’s 2023 Presidential Election Billboard Unveiled As Nigerians Kick

The speculation making rounds that the All Progressives Congress, APC, national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is aspiring to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 may be true after all going by the early campaigns he might have started with his billboard becoming visible in the South West region.

News of Tinubu running for the presidency in 2023 have dominated political discussions in recent weeks, though the ministerial nomination and Shiites protests appeared to have partially diverted the attention of Nigerians.

However, many Nigerians have expressed shock after seeing a billboard of the APC national leader, Tinubu starting an early presidential campaign ahead of 2023. The message of the presidential election billboard is not lost on political watchers, who together with social media users are quick to criticise the purported presidential election bid of the APC chieftain.

A look at the billboard which is written, “BAT 2023” shows that it was sponsored by one of the numerous pro-Tinubu groups that do not need his approval to carry out similar political jobs on his behalf. Political watchers and social media users believe that Tinubu is desperate in his desire to become president despite heavy odds against him.

In the opinion of many, Tinubu bringing out this type of billboard at a time that the outcome of the presidential election is being contested at the Tribunal by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar smacks of insensitivity and greed for power.

They argued that apart from it coming too early in the day, Tinubu has shown that nothing else matters to him other than to grab power by all means possible. They argued that the mood of Nigeria presently does not support this kind of Tinubu’s manoeuvre.

One concerned social media user twitted that Tinubu wants to impose himself on Nigeria, but was quick to add that it will not work. Another twitted that alleged looters are being recycled and power passed from one hand to another through a fraudulent electoral process. Yet another said if Tinubu becomes president Nigeria is finished, while one advised Nigerians who have the means to leave the country to do so now without thinking twice.
