Former president John Dramani Mahama of Ghana has been named a co-winner of the 2018 Zik Prize in political leadership award.
Mahama was awarded together with the immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie Oyegun.
Meanwhile, Udom Emmanuel and Abubakar Sanni- Bello, governors of Akwa Ibom State and Niger State respectively, won the prize in good governance.
The 2018 Zik Prize was organised by the Public Policy Research and Analysis Centre (PPRAC).
All the winners were announced during a press conference held in Nigeria’s capital, Lagos on Wednesday, April 24.
The business leadership award went to Femi Otedola, chairman of Forte Oil, billionaire Arthur Eze and Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum.
Past winners of the prestigious award include Peter Obi, former speaker House of Representatives Aminu Tambuwal, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar among others. Prince Emeka Obasi publisher of Business Hallmark is the Executive Secretary, while Professor Jubril Aminu is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the PPRAC.
